David Bote Signs Five-Year Extension with Cubs

Drawing upon more than 30 years of experience in the automotive sector, Jerry Rosenstein is a resident of Chicago, Illinois, who serves as president of the CARS #1 pre-owned dealership and advisory firm. When he isn't working, Jerry Rosenstein enjoys following Major League Baseball's (MLB) Chicago Cubs.

Barring a trade in the future, the player who was responsible for one of the best moments of Chicago's 2018 will remain with the team through the 2024 season. David Bote, who hit a game-winning, 2-out, 2-strike grand slam against the Washington Nationals on Sunday Night Baseball last August, signed a five-year, $15 million contract extension with the Cubs in early April. The contract carries club options for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

A 26-year-old native of Longmont, Colorado, Bote was selected by the Cubs in the 18th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft. The infielder made his big league debut last season and registered a .239 batting average to go along with six home runs and 33 RBI through 74 games. He boasts a .257 batting average, three home runs, and 16 RBI through the first 35 games of the 2019 season.
